What are biopolymers?
WHAT ARE THEY MADE OF?
Our research in the area of biodegradable polymers, (readily available renewable resource) as a base for production of biodegradable polymers, has resulted in products which can meet or exceed the specification of their plastic counterparts. Biopolymers are thermoplastic material which is derived from either plant starch or a new range of biodegradable synthetic material.
HOW ARE THEY PROCESSED?
They can be processed using the same converting equipment that conventional plastic products are currently made with. ie blown film, thermoformed, extruded and injection moulded.
BIODEGRADABILITY
Our materials are 100% biodegradable and compostable. They degrade into basic properties, ie: carbon dioxide and water without any ecotoxicological effect on terrestrial or aquatic organisms. Various international testing authorities have tested measured and certified biodegradability therefore assuring our customers that products made from these polymers are truly what they claim to be.
FUNCTIONALITY
Market functionality demand has been our driving force for research. Tailor made materials can now be produced with specific performance criteria to satisfy a particular need. We can manipulate EcoEarth material to perform different functions in strength, flexibility/rigidity, longer or shorter biodegradation time according to the customer's specific needs. ..We can even add controlled release agents during the process such as slow release fertilizers, repellents or pheromones.
